Lares Valley 4 Day Trek 2007 -2008 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS PROGRAM
( At 7:00 or 8:00 PM the night before the trek you will have an Orientation with your group and guide. )
Itinerary For Lares Machupicchu Trek
Day1.-Cusco-Calca–Laresvillage(3100mts.)-Quishuarani,(370mts.)
We will leave from Cusco in the early morning and have a head start to the sacred valley. We will pass through Pisac and Calca where we will stop and grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the country side and local appeal. We will stay for about 30 minutes so that everyone can have a chance to use the bathroom. Then we will travel by bus again for about an hour and a half enjoying the great views. WE will arrive at the beginning of our hiking trip now at a place known as Pascana, where we will rest and have some lunch. We start our easy hike to Quishuarani that will take about two and a half hours. In Quishuarani we will set up camp and have all evening to meet the locals and see there ancient techniques of weaving and if you like purchace something from these people. Dinner is provided.
Day 2 .- From Quishuarani to Cancha Cancha (3800 m.a.s.l.)
The second day we wake up early, breakfast will be hot and ready to be searved. Today we start our longest day, of about 7 hours of walking. We stop for lunch and snacks and of course time to relax once and a while. We will start our ascent this day to the highest point of the trip, at your own pace of course. The climb is challenging but well worth it. We will pass Pachacutec at about 4450 mts. Here there are undescribable panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of Pitusiray, Sawasiray and Chicon. After we pass the highest point we will hike down hill for about 2.30 hours. This is an amazing day with chances to see Andean Wild Life and many different Flowers, Then we Camp at Cancha Cancha and have dinner and rest.
Day 3 .- From Cancha Cancha to Huaran and then Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes Town by train (2000 mts)
Today we have an easy day, we start off with a hardy breakfast and something hot to drink, then when everyone is ready we start our walk down hill for about 5 hours, hiking to Huaran, there we will take the train through Ollantaytambo, on to Aguas Callientes at the base of Machu picchu. You will have the evening free to explore the town and see the sites, and of course take in a hot shower.
Day 4 .- Machu Picchu (2400 mts) - Cusco (3400 mts)
Today we will wake up early, by 05: 30 a.m.to have breakfast and catch the first bus up to the stunning Machu Picchu. You will be able to leave your Luggage at the hotel where you are staying to have your hands free while exploring the ruins. You will have a guided tour of this magnificent place for about two and a half hours and then you will be free to do as you wish. There is a great hike up to Huayna picchu that over looks Machu picchu but you have to get there early before the door is closed. There are amazing opportunities here to add great photos to your collection so make sure to take photos every chance you get. You will be free to go back to Aguas callientes on you own but we will have a specific meeting time for us all to go together and if you do head back to the town on your own we will meet by the train station to catch the train back to Cusco.
