We will spend 4 days and 3 nights trekking up and down snow-capped Andean mountains with spectacular views,through Inca tunnels,crossing paths with llamas and Andean locals going about their daily lives to arrive on the 4th day at the amazing Machu Picchu ruins built by the Incas years ago.A challenge you will never forget!
Itinerary Of Inka Trail 4d/3n
Day 1 – Pick up from your hotel door between 5am and 5:30am and arrive at Kilometre 82 (the starting point of the Inca trail). We will stop for breakfast along the way.At the check point of Kilometre 82 we must provide entrance tickets,passports and ISIC student cards(if paying at a student rate).
The first day is a fairly easy one,passing several Inca ruins.In the late afternoon we will set up camp near the small village of Wayllabamba(3000m/9842ft).Night falls to approx. 10ºC.
Day 2 – We rise early at 6am and have breakfast while taking in incredible views.We will climb towards the highest pass called “Dead Woman´s Pass”(4200m/13779ft).We will see an amazing variety of birds along the way including the native hummingbird.In the afternoon we will set up camp at Pacamayu(3550m/11646ft). Night falls to approx. 6ºC.
Day 3 – Another early rise at 6am,we have breakfast and start our ascent to stop at Runkurakay Pass,an archaelogical site.
The next stage leads us through a mystical cloud forest.Out of the cloud forest we come across another Inca site Phuyupatamarca,meaning “Town in the Clouds”,then again at the end of our day we set up camp. Night falls to approx. 12ºC ,

Day 4 - We will wake early at 4.15 am, eat breakfast and set off on the trail again at approximately 5.15 am in order to arrive in Machu Picchu before sunrise. We will view this unforgetable sunrise over Machu Picchu at the final pass of Intipunku (Sun Gate) at about 7:00am. From Intipunku we will descend for about 40 minutes to the ruins of Machu Picchu. When we arrive at the ruins, we will have a two hour, guided tour of the major sectors. Following the tour, you will have some free time to explore the ruins on your own.
The train back to Cusco departs from Aguas Calientes, the nearest village to Machu Picchu, at approximately 4:30 pm (time can vary). You will arrive back in Cusco at about 9:00 pm. Included in our standard service is the tourist bus from Machu Picchu down to Aguas Calientes, the train back to Cusco and a transfer from the station to you hotel.

*IMPORTANT – due to regulations brought in 2002, the Inca trail only allows 500 people per day,including guides,porters and cooks.It is therefore recommended to book 2 months in advance to guarantee a place on the date you would like to leave.If you are wanting to go during peak season (June-September) it is recommended to book 4 months in advance.
